This loan is another 'risk band removed' but no comment entered by FC. There is no sign that this firm is in any difficulty, and the loan is and always has been paid up do date.

Quite a few of the 'risk band removed' actions are due to imminent repayment/refinancing of the loan, often accompanied by a new FC auction. Rather that than something more problematic.

I have written to FC and will post their reply if and when I get one.

Please keep us posted on any FC reply. It really is appalling for FC to just downgrade a loan (especially one in which I have a share!) with no hint of an explanation or justification

Well I am interested to know and do not have the loan, but then perhaps I should get a life.

Well I am interested to know and do not have the loan, but then perhaps I should get a life. Ah, but I think that will make you positively disinterested while still being uninterested. As to the second part, I am not qualified to pass comment, and certainly ought to be uninterested. But as an empathatic kind of person, I guess I could get interested should you be in a position where that might help (though I'm not sure I would recommend it).

Perhaps interested if you have the loan and it is repaying, uninterested if you do not have the loan and disinterested if you have it and it defaults. The comforting response is surely to reassure me that simply being an FC lender (and perhaps forum member) is to have a sufficient and rewarding life. I still want to know why the risk band has neen removed, Captain Confident, and am glad we have superheros like you and Bracknell Boy to sort these things out.

It occurs to me that being both an FC lender and a forum member is enough to have a sufficient and rewarding life.
Does that help ?

A reply has arrived at Confident Castle.
It comprises an expression of regret that no comment was entered at the time of the risk band removal, and announces an investigation into how that happened.
There is a comment against the loan now regarding a winding up petition against the company in March, dismissed in April. All being well, the risk band will be reinstated.
