I tried to persuade myself that if Ed decided to go ahead despite all the warnings here, and the consequent damage that could then be done to his so far successful platform, then it really must be quite safe.
I failed.
£1 tracking investment from me.

/mod hat off I'm not impressed - it needs putting back a year, or maybe a decade, or a generation. Much of the on-line smelly stuff has now been covered over or erased, but as I tell the cats .. "nice try, but I can still smell it" ... Rambling through the websites, I think we can deduce where the May pictures came from, and it wasn't the June VR visit (if there actually was one). Far from 'soaking up excess cash' on the MT platform, this is likely to encourage astute readers to liquidate (if possible) and export more ... gibmike - care to comment? Btw are the Spaniards still coming or have they arrived? Wash your mouth out with soapy water GSV3MIaC, it's 37c today and I have just had my nap. Spain don't even want Gibraltar, it is just a convenient argument to bring up when one of their dodgy politicians has been caught for tax evasion.

As a backup plan for letting the accommodation if the college turns out not to be viable one might look at how convenient the site is for the University of the West of Scotland (Paisley Campus).

Yet another thankyou to the DD'ers, googlers, converted 12%'er et al for the investigative work ....
The first MT loan I haven't gone into since the Football Club, sometimes the borrower just has a bit too much "character" !

Web site for S***** College has been removed, but D****** Investments still shows project. Our combined DD has had some effect. For an abandoned building it sure has a lot of companies registered there. I've been on the case with this one trying to track down S******* College....I think I've cracked it!

I've only invested a token amount as others have also indicated.
The valuation has made me think what a strange world we live in when we also have a Putney loan with a very small plot of land valued at 1.3m.
I'd be rubbish at this valuation business if this is really what these sort of things are worth... I'd always undervalue them...

......... the peer involved is well known locally for all the wrong reasons. Perhaps it runs in the family, as his lordship's father once experienced less than welcome media coverage, for personal rather than business issues. Not that his name meant anything to me, but I well remember 'her' name and face on the front page of every sentationalist newspaper back in the late '60s.

Stastically, do companies run by a peer go bust more than one run by a commoner?
Just asking?

I guess this truly can be described as peer to peer lending

I now feel less comfortable about MT, so I cut down a few loans to withdraw to another platform, however I now find that amount " Funds now frozen" what is all that about and how long will they be frozen?

That's just the time between you requesting a withdrawal and it being processed. Often just minutes during business hours!

It always does that when you withdraw your funds. On business working hours this will be a few minutes but out of business hours this can depend but you will get your withdrawal when someone at MT confirms it. I also withdrew 80% of my funds from MT on to other platforms following the decision made to follow thru with the Paisley bridging loan, its rather disappointing to say the least. One can only assume it is a business decision to keep immediate funds from the AE loans within the MT platform which is somewhat successful but ultimately a gamble with the reputation of this platform. Probably will come back depending on when/if the London Restaurants loan goes live, without doing any DD been eyeing that loan up since its been in the pipeline, looks like a solid long term loan.

I'm entitled to my opinion and therefore I will express it.
For the sake of a single £500,000 loan was it really worth all this reputational damage to the platform and reduction in lender confidence.
Two days ago I was rating MT 9 out of 10 and now I am only rating it 6 out of 10 and that's a big shift in my perception of the platform in a very short space of time.

I guess this truly can be described as peer to peer lending Commoner to peer lending likely more accurate in this case. Hope no one takes offence.
