Has the "Overall Participations" tab always been there or is it a new addition with the revised T&Cs, etc.? It displays lender names (in full !) and sums invested on every Live loan, not just those you're invested in. A bit of an eye-opener, but perhaps I've been blind before. Interesting to see stevefindlay (BondMason) featuring in some.

Email BC (and phone) to complain.
Absurd.
I wonder if it would breach Data Protection to download all the lists for each loan, amalgamate them and publish a list of the total investment of each named person, some of whom could easily be identified because of their unusual personal or company name.
BondMason for example. £83,000 in Dundee loan. Wonder who that could be?
Some people have an abbreviated name. Rich, or Reg or Stephen for example.

This is a breach of the Data Protection Act and should it not be resolved by the end of the week, I plan to report BridgeCrowd to the Information Commissioners Office
The Data Protection Act says that:
Appropriate technical and organisational measures shall be taken against unauthorised or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data.
This is the seventh data protection principle. In practice, it means you must have appropriate security to prevent the personal data you hold being accidentally or deliberately compromised. In particular, you will need to:
design and organise your security to fit the nature of the personal data you hold and the harm that may result from a security breach;
be clear about who in your organisation is responsible for ensuring information security;
make sure you have the right physical and technical security, backed up by robust policies and procedures and reliable, well-trained staff; and
be ready to respond to any breach of security swiftly and effectively.

This reminds me of a similar occurrence at FS a while ago. After security risks were noted by a number of forumites FS duly responded by anonymising usernames with copious use of asterisks. By and large this removed the risk of identifying investors. However BC has blundered further by broadcasting full names rather than usernames. I wonder what kind of logic led to this. I am sure BC will reconsider once they take note of the risks involved and the protests on this forum. On the other hand perhaps consider that BC has to-date provided exceptionally good returns to investors and reporting their blunder to the ICO without notice seems to me ungrateful and heavy-handed.

I have amended, mainly due to not having the time currently to complete the report but also to give BC the opportunity to put right, given the holiday period This shouldn't detract from how serious this is and just because an investment has seen good returns, shouldn't give the right to share personal information. It does not seem processes are in place to prevent this happening at BC, which is a concern for investors, but also would be a concern for the ICO

In the days before Bridgecrowd had a website they used to detail the participants in each loan on a PDF. This was a plus point for me when I started investing.......... to see that I was not alone investing and also to see how much was being invested by each participant. Most importantly I was able to see that the Alexander family were investing in each loan........all gave me confidence in the process
When the the website launched this list of participants was missing and I missed it.
Glad its back, great site, have been investing for over a year would thoroughly recommend it.

Dear All,
The loans participation is new feature that went live over the bank holiday weekend. We had asked our dev team to add the Investors ID's. When the launched it on Friday they added Investors Names. This was removed on Monday and Investors Names were replaced with Investor's ID's. Apologies for any confusion. Kind regards, Louis Alexander MD
