I've also added a few quid to the pot, although doing so seems like a masochistic act because it's painful reading. Whip arounds can be painful!

Reporting update: I've had some notes come in from our journalist who was present in court today, and will return tomorrow, but rather then publish them in dribs and drabs I'm going to wait for a completed set. I'm told over the weekend.
I will be publishing the full transcript, circa 90 pages, from Peter's FCA interview, which may be of some interest, over the next few days.

Jurors given 'route to verdict' in Collateral Fraud trial[Coverage from today] The younger brother and former director of Collateral was the "driving force" and is as responsible for fraud as his eldest brother who changed the company's name on the Financial Conduct Authority's interim permission register, a court heard. Jurors will be asked to consider "family dynamics" and the relationship between the two brothers as they head in to consider their verdict in this five-week trial. The 12 men and women at Southwark Crown Court who will be deciding the fate of the former Collateral brothers were also advised that "each defendant has relied upon matters that he did not mention when questioned." *Please refrain from commentary while proceedings are considered active.*

FCA admits they 'left the window to the car open and someone was able to reach in', jury hears
Any FCA case worker who "knew their onions” should have spotted Collateral’s name change on the interim permission register, jurors were told. The 12 men and women deciding the fate of the former Collateral brothers were told their excuses were “nonsense” and “invented”, according to the prosecution. While the two defendants’ representatives tried to convince the jury at Southwark Crown Court they had made a “mistake” and were under the belief they had not defrauded anyone. Full story from yesterday: mouseinthecourtroom.wordpress.com/2023/05/16/fca-admits/Following further speeches this morning, which will be published soon, the jury retired to consider their verdicts at lunchtime. *Please refrain from commentary while proceedings are considered active.*

Judge tells jury: The FCA are not on trial^ Coverage from Wednesday The judge in the Collateral trial that alleges two brothers misled thousands of investors by claiming to be authorised by the FCA has told jurors the authority is not on trial, a court heard. Accusations levelled at the Financial Conduct Authority suggested they engaged in a “face-saving exercise” as they failed to adopt a “robust clear position” on the-then boom of peer-to-peer lending, jurors were told. But they were also reminded the case hinges on whether the two defendants were deceiving investors or whether they had made an honest mistake – and not to take into account the FCA’s actions. *Please refrain from commentary while proceedings are considered active.*

GofundmeI notice we are still £333 short of the initial target. My piggybank is empty (suppose I might get £3 for it now it is redundant) Maybe Mousey could update on what is still needed in reality. Maybe also anybody who has not 'chipped in' yet could help clear it up?
