Meanwhile the "unbiased" UK gov funded and controlled state broadcaster does an explainer into why the Russians are displaying US/UK military kit they've captured. I don't recall them doing something similar when there were pictures coming out of Kyiv towards the start of the war showing all the Russian armour. I'm not denying there is quite a big difference given who invaded who but I'd rather read the unvarnished truth than the polished up one. www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-europe-68934337Pretty sure they did ... probably featured tractors. That said there is a difference between captured foreign military equipment from countries you claim are fighting a proxy war against yourself and captured military equipment from a country everyone knows has invaded you ... thats the context of the report ... If the Ukr captured & displayed a load of Chinese stuff it might get more attention.

They definitely covered the display of the russian tanks in central Kyiv but didn't do any kind of "explainer" regarding the thinking of the Kyiv government as to why the display was there

The Russians arent displaying Ukr equipment, they are displaying US, British, German equipment, complete with little flags.

Go somewhere else with your russian rhetoric. Pretending to care about Ukrainians just to subordinate to russia. . . pathetic Oi k6 He is simply a mirror site of the talking points of Youtube influencer Colonel Doubledown McWhackjob. A man who deleted all his Youtube posts from 2022 because they were so wildly wrong. But you can revel in the whole of his 2023 output. You are basically a blasphemer - which should be obvious to anyone with any common sense from your Avatar....

Let's assume you're right (you can probably lump me in with captainconfident ), what on earth does it have to do with McGregor's (lack of) credibility?

That ship sailed when Obama decided not to do anything about the Russians/Syrians dumping drums of chemicals and nerve agents on civilians from helicopters. The world failed to come together on that, just as it can't on climate change. So Putin can get away with denying he is a psycopath and sadist. I should qualify that. 2nd epilogue of War and Peace, Tolstoy points out in a tricky argument that the high commanders only vicariously experience war from behind desks, but didn't actually get their hands bloody, yet it is the mass of the lower and lowest soldiers who have done the 'drowning and slaying' and yet escape practically unreproached. The 'power' of the army is not Napoleon or the multitude of commands made by Napoleon, most of which had no effect at all. The power of the army is the combined will of the footsoldiers to come together and go to other countries to hack and maim their fellow man, for which 'war' gives a free pass to do. Think IDF and see them gunning down the women carrying buckets if water to the hospital. Was Netinjahu responsible for that? Are the soldiers absolved of reproach because they are soldiers? Because their side declared 'war'? Or are they not, because as individuals they have a responsibility not to lose their humanity, and if other people are murdering freely, it doesn't mean they have to join in. In the same way the German army was the motive power that made Hitlers orders flesh. Tolstoy argues that if just some groups of humble soldiers said 'i'm not doing it', it might have rippled up and stalled the machine. But they didn't and deserve blame to a man. Hitler, Putin the theoretical killers, the soldiers on a par as the actual killers. Chloropicrin is identified in the Chemical weapons convention as a banned chemical but seems to be just a sort of tear gas, whereas sarin was sprayed on the Syrian civilians. But arguably you either enforce the CWC or it is no longer worth the paper. Sorry for going on a bit.

I see Britain is happy to more risks than its big brother in allowing UK weapons to be used in Russia proper. I make no comment on whether that is reasonable or not but why not coordinate with the other powers (mainly the US) ?
This sort of thing is why more and more knowledgeable people such as current and former senior British army officers are suggesting we we may need to get ready for mass conscription into the armed forces in the UK.

Army officers do tend to be the very ones who fantasise enthusiastically about that sort of thing. Generals and majors, uh-huh They're never too far From battlefields so glorious Out in a world of their own They'll never come down 'Til once again victorious Woah, generals and majors always Seem so unhappy 'less they got a war Generals and majors, uh-huh Like never before Are tired of being actionless..... Come on, sing along!

Both mine are military . The last thing the army wants is conscription . Its hard enough to attempt to 'train' young UK volunteers.
